Although I am a Second Life avatar, the real life me lived in The Netherlands for a while and came to appreciate Dutch history. Queen Wilhelmina reigned from 1898-1948, for 50 years. What makes her so remarkable is that she effectively ran a government in exile in London during the Second World War, when her country was overrun by the Nazis. Her picture was a symbol of the resistance. She returned to the Netherlands in 1945, and abdicated in favor of her daughter, Princess Juliana, in 1948, who became Queen Juliana . She is also the Grandmother of Queen Beatrix, the current Queen. I made this video for her using a collection of stills set to The National Anthem of the Netherlands.

Jan Akkerman and band in fantastic form playing 'Streetwalker' at the Wilhelmina Cafe in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, February 2008. The band plays large concert venues across the world, and it is a real treat to see them perform in this intimate cafe environment, surrounded by a truly appreciative 'home audience'. The venue was filled to capacity, with only standing room at the front of the stage. The entire performance was superb; check out Jan's amazing, 'blistering' solo on this track. The more you hear it, the more you appreciate it's magnificence, like all of Jan's great solos. Coen's keyboard solo is also remarkable, but camera position did not facilitate capturing the action on the 'keys'.
