UGLY BETTY

Vanaf 6 mei elke dinsdag om 20.30 uur op NET 5.

In the magazine this week, maple syrup was a key ingredient in the "In Season" recipe. Don Lee of PDT may use maple syrup to make his old-fashioned, but we couldn't get past the bacon-infused bourbon that is the base of the drink. Bacon? Bourbon? We're in. And since we took our camera to PDT yesterday to watch Lee prepare the drink himself, we can all practice at home. Frequently. Video by Jonah Green

Last night El Museo del Barrio celebrated its 15th birthday with a party at Cipriani's. So Fabiola Beracasa got her party dress on and hit the cocktail hour with a video crew. The theme was Quinceañera, the Latin version of an American sweet-sixteen party. Simon Doonan dressed for the occasion in an insect-patterned shirt, which he explains is very tropical and therefore Latin. Nicole Miller donned vintage Galliano which made Fab (and us) swoon. And of course Miss USA and Miss Teen USA donned their long satin gloves and glittery gowns. Watch and find out how long they spend getting ready and how often they wear their crowns. Ali Stephens is about to kick off her third season modeling, but she's already starred in Calvin Klein and Chloé campaigns and dozens of runway shows. And before all that, the 17-year-old Salt Lake City native ran cross-country in high school for more than two years. So what better way to get to know her than going for a run in East River Park? We might have lost to her in a race or two, but we don't feel too bad about it since the chick runs a mile in 5:31. Press play to see her run like the wind and teach us her runway walk. David Letterman and Sarah Palin have both moved on, but that didn't stop a few dozen protesters from turning up to a Fire David Letterman rally outside the Ed Sullivan Theater tonight. Videographer Jonah Green talked to a few of them, and learned that they watch Fox News, hate socialism, and think that Letterman "rapes children with his mouth." Oh, and they really, really like Jay Leno.

Obviously, we all love to ogle and gawk at pictures of the celebs at last night's big affair, but that doesn't quite capture the special night in all its shrieking grandeur. Thus Jada Yuan hit the red carpet, camera in tow, so that we might share with you the sparkly mêlée: See Anna shimmer; watch the Kaiser saunter! Plus Coco Rocha, Anja Rubik, Jessica Stam, Emily Mortimer, Fergie, and Zac Posen all came by to chat, as did Lynda freaking Carter. Of course Anna thought to invite the real Wonder Woman — what, you think this is the first time she's thrown a party or something? Video by Jonah Green.

Last night New York's Jada Yuan went to the premiere of the HBO movie Recount, starring Laura Dern, Kevin Spacey, Bob Balaban, and Ed Begley Jr. The film relives what happened during the highly intense battle that took place between the day of the 2000 contested presidential election and the final decision by the Supreme Court that declared George Bush president. In the above video, see what Dern thought of being cast as Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, how one Daily Show writer would have rewritten the ending, and just how difficult a butterfly ballot can be.

Most of the band's nearly 30 members made it out to McCarren Park Pool on August 5th, 2007 for an exuberant concert. New York Magazine's estimable video crew was there to capture the scene — as well as a few childish antics from bandleader Emanuel Lundgren. By Jonah Green.
